The Short Version

A photographer who has been doing this long enough to know when to direct and when to disappear.

Liam started Island Films in 2016 after moving to Cyprus to photograph weddings full-time. What began as a single-photographer business grew into the small, deliberately-scaled team that runs both the photography and the cinematography sides of the work today.

The reason Island Films stays small is the same reason couples keep choosing it. Every wedding is covered by the same person who replied to the first email — no junior shooters, no rotating teams, no surprises on the day. That continuity is the whole point.

Outside the wedding season, the work continues with editorial photography, brand films, and the constant gear and craft upkeep that keeps the wedding work properly current. Cyprus is home.

Wedding photography is about staying out of the day. The best version of the work is the one that lets the wedding happen and quietly catches it as it does.

Credentials

Experience that matters on the day, not just on the website.

The list below is the operational reality of every wedding booked with Island Films — not a marketing pitch.

10+ years documenting Cyprus weddings

Island Films has been the working name since 2016, with photography and cinematography covered under one team across every major Cyprus venue.

400+ weddings on the island

Genuine local experience across Paphos, Limassol, Larnaca, Ayia Napa, Polis, and the Troodos villages — coordinator relationships in place at most major venues.

Photo and film from one team

Both deliverables come from the same operational approach, which is why combined coverage tends to feel more cohesive than booking two separate suppliers.

Licensed drone cinematography

Drone footage is included in every wedding film at no extra cost, subject to airspace and weather conditions on the day.

Approach

How the work actually feels on a wedding day.

Style descriptions are easy to write and hard to live up to. These three points are the closest description of how Island Films coverage runs on the day.

Documentary first, posed second

The wedding day comes first. Coverage stays naturally invisible during ceremonies and speeches. Portraits stay short and intentional — usually 15 to 20 minutes total — so the day never feels like a shoot.

Calm direction, not crowd-management

Couples consistently say they did not notice the camera was there until the gallery arrived. That is the goal — a wedding photographer who is present without ever being the centre of attention.

Honest, itemised quotes

No fixed package menu, no upsell pressure. Each wedding gets a tailored quote based on the coverage you actually want, not the coverage someone else decided to bundle.

The Work

The strongest place to start is the work itself.
