The Studio

Island Films is built on documentary wedding photography, cinematic films, and the real emotion that makes a wedding worth remembering.

I picked up a camera in 2012. At the start, I was drawn to texture, structure, and atmosphere: abandoned buildings, architecture, and the kind of places that make you slow down and really look at what is in front of you.

That curiosity eventually pulled me into the UK music scene. I became a music video director, shooting artist portraits, music videos, festivals, travel commercials, and brand work. It taught me how to read people, movement, light, and atmosphere quickly, which still shapes the way I work at weddings now.

I found my way into weddings in 2016, and that is when I fell in love with everything about them. The nerves before a ceremony, the way families hold each other, the small looks that say more than any pose, and the pressure of having one chance to preserve it properly all felt different to anything else I had photographed or filmed.

Along the way, I have worked with musicians across the UK, covered festivals, travelled with my camera, and taken on commissions for brands including Nike and Adidas, including the chance to photograph Willow Smith.

Island Films is where all of that has settled: documentary instinct, portrait direction, music-world energy, and wedding-day sensitivity. I want our Cyprus wedding photography and films to look beautiful, but more than that, I want them to feel true to the people in them.

I do not think the best wedding work feels like a production. It feels like someone understood the day, stayed close to it, and knew exactly when to disappear.

Behind The Scenes

The work between the obvious moments.

Most of a wedding day is not about big direction. It is preparation, anticipation, checking light, finding quiet angles, and being ready before the moment asks for attention.

The Team

Small enough to stay personal. Experienced enough to carry the day.

Island Films is intentionally lean. You are not booking a faceless supplier pool. You are booking a studio with a consistent way of seeing, shooting, and moving through a wedding day.

Founder, Lead Photographer & Cinematographer

Liam

I started photography in 2012 with abandoned buildings and architecture, then moved into artist portraits, music videos, festivals, travel commercials, and brand work. Weddings found me in 2016, and the emotion of those days became the reason Island Films exists.

How We Work

I have built the studio around calm coverage and a shared visual language.

A studio, not a rotating supplier list

I want the photography and cinematography to feel like they came from the same place. We plan together, shoot together, and edit with one visual language so the final story feels coherent.

Cameras that know when to step back

I never want a wedding to feel like a production. We give direction when it helps, then step back so the day can breathe and the real moments have room to happen.

Experience beyond wedding trends

Music videos, portraits, festivals, travel commercials, and brand commissions shaped how I see light, people, movement, and atmosphere. That background still sits inside our Cyprus wedding photography and films.
