The Best Time of Year to Get Married in Cyprus
When to actually get married in Cyprus, based on light, heat, guest comfort, and what the photography looks like across each season.

When couples ask us about timing for a Cyprus wedding, the honest answer is that the best months are not the obvious ones. July and August get the most bookings because they fit school holidays, but they are not the months we would recommend if the wedding itself is the priority.
Here is how each season actually behaves on the island, and which months consistently produce the strongest weddings for guests, light, and coverage.
May and early June
Probably the single best window for a Cyprus wedding. Temperatures sit around 25 to 28 degrees Celsius, the light has the warmth of full summer without the punishing midday heat, and venues are not yet fully booked out for high season. Coastal evenings are long and comfortable.
Photography and film both benefit from this window because there is more flexibility on ceremony timing - you can run a 4pm ceremony in May without anyone melting, which means the wedding stretches naturally into golden hour.
September and October
The other premium window, and the months we would book if we could not have May. Sea temperatures are still warm, the light has settled into its softer autumn quality, and most venues have hit their stride for the year. Less humidity than peak summer.
September weekends fill up fast for Cyprus weddings - if you are eyeing this window, book the venue and suppliers 12 to 18 months out.
July and August
The most popular months, and the ones we would advise against if you have any flexibility. Daytime temperatures hit 35 to 40 degrees regularly. Guests in formal wear struggle. Outdoor ceremonies become uncomfortable. Photography and film have to work harder to compensate for harsh midday light.
If July or August is your only option, the fix is straightforward: push the ceremony to 5pm or later, build in shade and water for guests, and accept that the most photographable part of the day will be the last three hours.
November to March
Cyprus winter is mild by northern European standards, but it is real winter. November and March can produce stunning weddings with much lower costs and high venue availability, but you are accepting weather risk. Bring contingency plans for rain.
December and January are too cold and too unpredictable for most outdoor wedding plans. Beautiful for elopements and intimate indoor weddings, but not what most couples are picturing when they choose Cyprus.
Our actual recommendation
If you can pick any month, pick late May or mid-September. If you need school holiday timing, go for the very end of July or very start of September rather than peak August. If you have full flexibility and a smaller guest list, October weekends in Cyprus consistently produce the best weddings we shoot all year.
