Wedding Story — Liopetro, Kouklia, Paphos — 9 July 2026
Frank & Franziska — A Liopetro Wedding in Kouklia, Paphos
Frank and Franziska were married on 9 July 2026 at Liopetro, the stone wedding venue in the village of Kouklia, just east of Paphos in Cyprus. A full summer's day captured for both photography and film — from the morning preparations to golden hour at Aphrodite's Rock and the dance floor after dark. Here is the day, start to finish.
Frank and Franziska's summer wedding at Liopetro in Kouklia, Paphos — a cream three-piece suit, a coral bouquet and a floral gown, an open-air ceremony above the sea, golden-hour portraits at Aphrodite's Rock, and a party that ran on late into the night.

Frank and Franziska were married on 9 July 2026 at Liopetro, the stone wedding venue tucked into the village of Kouklia, a short drive east of Paphos.
We were with them for both photography and film across the whole day. The gallery below follows it in order: the preparations, the first look and the ceremony, golden hour down at Aphrodite's Rock, and the party that carried on long after the sun went down.
The morning
Frank's morning started quietly by the villa pool — sunglasses, a bottle of cologne, suede loafers and the wedding rings laid out in the sun. Then into a beautifully cut cream three-piece suit with a champagne tie, in one of the stone rooms on the Liopetro grounds, and a few relaxed portraits by the plunge pool with the cactus and the hills of the Paphos countryside behind him.
Across the venue Franziska was getting ready in a warm, boho-styled stone room, a bridesmaid in soft blue settling her long veil. Her strapless floral-lace gown, her hair worn long and loose, and a coral, peach and magenta bouquet that set the tone for the whole day. Her father came in for a first look before the ceremony — the kind of quiet moment we always keep an eye out for.

The first look and the ceremony
Frank waited in the clipped box gardens while Franziska came to meet him — a private first look on the stone path before anyone else had seen the dress. The ceremony was held outdoors on the upper terrace, the open Paphos countryside and a line of the Mediterranean dropping away behind them, wind turbines just visible on the far hills.
Vows read under a tall pine, rings, and then the walk back out — bouquet lifted high, guests up out of their chairs and cheering them through. A perfect Cyprus summer ceremony.

Drinks, dinner and a gelato bar
The celebration eased into drinks and dinner as the sun dropped. Long wooden banquet tables were laid out under the pines and festoon lights, dressed with soft pink and dahlia arrangements; a little scallop-canopied gelato bar was doing steady business; and there was a backlit walk through the old stone courtyard for a bridal portrait in black and white.
Then the grand entrance into the reception — guests waving napkins overhead in a tunnel of cheers — and a quiet moment for the two of them at the sweetheart table, banked on both sides with lush pink and lilac flowers.

Golden hour at Aphrodite's Rock
In the evening we slipped away with Frank and Franziska for portraits at Aphrodite's Rock — Petra tou Romiou — a short drive down the coast, and one of the most striking sunset spots anywhere near Paphos. The couple out on the headland with the sea rock and the whole bay glowing gold behind them.
As the light dropped we moved in close: the veil lifting on the sea breeze, foreheads together, a kiss half-hidden under the veil with the last of the sun coming through. This is the part of the day we protect the most, because it is almost always where the pictures we love best come from.

Into the night
Back at Liopetro the party got going. A dramatic twilight portrait by the old stone chapel beside the venue, then dinner into the first dance and straight onto the floor — festoon lights and torches, a live saxophonist playing over the DJ through the smoke, and both of them right in the middle of it.
Family and friends packed the dance floor through to the end of the night. A brilliant wedding from the first quiet moment of the morning to the last song, and one we were very glad to have both photographed and filmed.
